Howie Kroon  President and CEO

Howie Kroon is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Palliser Lumber Sales Ltd. He holds an Honors BA and an MA from the University of Waterloo. He received his Chartered Accounting Designation in 1989. Howie joined Palliser Lumber in April 1998, following a ten-year term with an international consulting and accounting firm, where his focus was with private entrepreneurial companies.

Howie is a former director with the Alberta Forest Products Association, representing secondary manufacturers. He previously taught for the Alberta Institute of Chartered Accountants, and is currently a member of the federal advocacy group for the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants, and serves as vice chair for a not for profit organization. 

Bob MurphyExecutive Vice President


Bob Murphy is the Executive Vice President of Palliser Lumber Sales Ltd. He holds an Honors BA from Laurentian University and an MA from the University of Windsor. Bob joined Palliser in 1994 following a sixteen-year career with the Alberta Provincial Government. He is a former AFPA Board Member and presently represents secondary manufacturing on the Provincial and National Softwood Lumber Committees.

Pat Carley CFO

Pat Carley is the Chief Financial Officer of Palliser Lumber Sales Ltd. Pat is a Chartered Accountant and holds a B.Ed and B.Comm from the University of Alberta. Pat joined Palliser Lumber in February of 2000, following a four-year term with an international consulting and accounting firm where his focus was in taxation and audit.

Aldis BalcersSales Manager Aldis has worked in the lumber industry for 35 years, and in sales with Palliser Lumber for seven years. His extensive experience helps ensure that customers get superior service. Aldis enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, golf, walks, and supporting junior hockey. Bill MacGregorSales Representative Bill has worked in production and has led the Quality Control and Grading Instruction programs for Palliser Lumber for the past eight years. His credentials include an ‘A’ Grading Ticket and he has been awarded the “Best Grading Instructor in Alberta ” for the last two consecutive years. These qualifications coupled with his energetic, warm personality have ensured his sales success. Bill is an avid golfer, but always puts his customer’s interests first. Jason PolowaySales Representative Jason has 10 years experience with Palliser. He worked in the Shipping and Production departments before moving into Sales. His wide-ranging skills and experience with Palliser make him an indispensable part of the sales team. He enjoys spending time with his wife and two young sons, and playing baseball and golf.
